Welcome to the almost-too-incredible-to-believe BETA version of the new Dilbert web site! We spent most of the past year, and a small fortune, to unwrap all the pent up Dilbert goodness and provide it to you for free, embracing the new realities of intellectual property on the web.

The site is still in BETA. You're getting a preview of future wonders. Please be patient. This is a generation beyond any comic web site, and it gets bumpy when you pass beyond the rim. Take a sneak peek at these new features:

PUNCH LINES: Write your own punch lines for Dilbert strips - just type them right into the panel - and e-mail them to friends!

Soon you will be able to write the entire strip, collaborating with others, in what we call Group Mash! (One person writes the first panel, another writes the second, and so on.) Readers can vote the best ones to the top of the heap. That way you get the attention and credit you need to make life worth living.

Starting today, mocking the idiots in your workplace is a competitive sport! This is going to be fun. I'll participate in the Punch Lines and Group Mashes too. Look for my contributions under username ScottAdams.

ANIMATION: We've animated Dilbert online. Several strips are already done and we plan to add one per day. You have to hear the new voice for Dogbert.

FAVORITE LISTS: Create lists of your favorite Dilbert comics and share with others.

ARCHIVE EXPANDED: Now the free Dilbert archive extends back to 2001. We're working on putting the entire archive online.

COLOR: All online strips are in living color. They look sensational.

SEARCH: Filter the archive by favorite characters. For example, find all the comics in the archive featuring Dogbert or Catbert or Asok, etc., plus any combination of characters.

DILBERT BLOG: My personal blog is moving to this page. And you'll be able to vote on comments, so the wisest and funniest float to the top.

The site has so many features and options it will take you a while to discover them. Send me your comments at scottadams@aol.com.

Awesome update :) are you still going to have the past months' dilbert on the website?

now the only thing Im waiting for is more Dilbert wallpapers or computer backgrounds.... about a dozen or two of those would make us Dilbert fans really happy :)

Also, it would be great if you could mashup older strips. Currently it appears you can only do today's strip.

Wow... that's... wow... I will miss the old site, but I guess I will eventually become used to this one. Wow. Never saw this coming....

Your free site is a blight on the face of the Internet! I can't believe you spent all this time and effort to unleash such a pathetic product on your unsuspecting readers. I demand a full refund immediately.

Now go write me some more free comics, monkey-brain, and send them addressed to me personally in whatever obscure and archaic format I choose. And make sure they're extra funny.

Go. Go now!

Flash - no comment :( At least rss serves plain old gifs. I guess this will be the only way I'll watch Dilbert now.

Animation: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP Media Center 2005, Mac OSX 10.3 or Mac OSX 10.4 is required to view this page - nice work :(

I've been trying to decide if making the Comments link hard to find was accidental or deliberate.

The site looks good.

I had lots of trouble registering, as somehow a backslash was added in the middle of my username. I didn't notice it at first, and was thwarted at every turn trying to log in. NOw, I don't know how to get rid of the backslash, so I guess it stays.

Now that I'm in, I'll just wave at all those people knocking at the door trying to get in also. (Check for an errant backslash!)

Oh dear, where do I start? It's mid-April now, so this is surely not a joke. Having said that, it'd be a pretty bad joke.

" Care to tell your friends about the INCREDIBLY COOL new Dilbert.com."

I haven't checked if this "feature" can easily be used for spamming, but I sincerely hope you guys have, because at first glance it looks like you've invented the quickest way to blacklist your SMTP server.

And I'm afraid this is the smallest problem with the site, as it's not mine.

Let's just turn a blind eye to the otherwise pathetic childish and incredibly un-innovative try to market the new site and move on to more serious matters.

Flash. Well, Flash is good, innit? It's flashy. It's quite a bandwidth hog as well. And no sane employer should allow workers to install a Flash player on their computers, so down you go the drain, all you miserable Flashless sods. On the other hand...lemmesee...nothing, really. There's absolutely no added value in displaying a strip in Flash. Certainly there has been a lot of work put into it but it clearly was in vain and I think the quicker the whole idea is abandoned, the more unnecessary work you'll spare.

Furthermore. As you're no doubt aware of it, there is a Firefox plugin for viewing Dilbert comics, which (as opposed to this site) _is_ incredibly cool. Now I'm pretty sure the developers will fix it in no time but that makes your efforts of changing the site even more pointless.

It's fine that I can get all the new features free, but I don't want them. Can I get the old one back if I pay? I honestly would.

What fun! Ummm...now you'll have to re-work your time management schematic as this is sure to eat up an hour a day... I think I just got fatter ...

Congrats! This looks like it's been a fun project and we will certainly enjoy the fruits of your labor!!!

I added a comment (fairly negative) and I think it's been eaten.
Sums it up really.

The daily strip didn't display! I just get the empty placeholder. Oh I get it - build a whole new site that doesn't do the main function - Very Dilbert!
After more tries it appeared after waiting on the page for 30 seconds. It took 10 attempts to use the registration link too. There are some other link issues also.

Two questions:

1) Did Stevie Wonder design this site?
2) Can you get the guy from Wonder Years to reprise his role as Dilbert? I haven't seem him for a few years so I'm sure he'll work cheap. The voices seem a bit odd for those of us who remember your previous (and short-lived) foray into video.

looks great. few bugs i can see floating around, particularly in the mashups where strips don't seem to be appearing, or otherwise there seem to be multiple copies of the same mashup in the list. Also it would be great if users were able to do a search on all the mashups they themselves created over time. But it all looks good so far.
