And it seems Ill have to repeat objections Ive made in the past here to this sort of thinking: science is geared toward finding explanations for things and, therefore, disproving the existence of free will, regardless of whether or not it really exists.

Reality is what you perceive it to be. If people perceive they have free will and give it a name that makes it real enough to treat it as real regardless of the underlying mechanics.
