My Halloween costume this year was Lance Armstrong. All I needed was bicycle clothes, a necklace made of hypodermic needles, and a name tag. Feel free to borrow that one.

Do you have any other good Halloween costume ideas? Let's hear about them in the comments.

Happy Halloween!

Well I totally had a Dilbert costume put together, but I had to relocate a couple days ago and have no reason to put it on.

Go as Michael Brown. Show up three weeks late and complain to host about his poor timing.

@delius

do you mean adults should not wear costumes, or adults should not go trick-or-treating?

afaik adults wearing costumes is a decades old tradition. they just do adult activities such as parties instead.

personally i dont see the harm of adults wearing costumes. but yes trick-or-treating seems like butting into kids fun. let them have it all for themselves.

I'm going as Gary Johnson or the Invisible Man. Same thing.

Ah, I always wear the same costume to Halloween parties. The one of an invisible man. Works great.

-----------------------Yeah, I think Disney buying Lucasfilms is a bad move too, but for a different reason; Disney does okay when it sticks to animated films but tends to bomb when they move beyond that. I intend to watch whatever they come up with in three years time but I also expect to be repelled. I expect to see the worst of Lucasfilms and Disney combined in the result.

Apparently, whtllnew hasn't heard that Disney owns Marvel and put out Avengers, Iron Man movies, Thor, Captain America,... as well as the Pirates movies, and also Tron: Legacy amongst others.... Yea, so except for most of the major fantastical blockbusters in recent memory, they are terrible... hmm...
Please, whtllnew, stay home next Tuesday.

My two year old son is dressed up in a black turtleneck and a pair of blue jeans. It also helps that he is skinny and has pale skin, and is very eager to repeat "iPad!" and "iPhone!" when I say those words.

He also had a strategically designed magnet container that looks like an iPhone.

I was very happy to see that the ladies in my podiatrist's office were able to identify my son's costume successfully. No such luck for the 19 year old cashier at Walmart, who looked at him, and when I identified him as Steve Jobs, said, "Who?"

My dog loves her turtle toy so we dressed her as a turtle.

I don't really do halloween though. No idea what to dress up as and I didn't have enough time to do a disney themed star wars character. Which kind of has me in shock that disney would pay 4B for a ruined franchise with a fanbase that's 3 steps from being kung-fu movie vengeful.

Seriously, they took the coolest villian in movie history and turned him into the biggest cry-baby whiner ever. We had to wait 20 years for those prequels, what a rip-off. Don't get me started on whether or not the postquels will be expanded universe or not.

I'm also Lance Armstrong. I have a bag of blood (tomato juice) for transfusions, and a ball in my pocket. (Just the one. Count it.)

Not that Im into halloween myself anymore, but whats the big deal? If adults want to dress up and go to adult halloween parties wheres the bad? I can see the prob if they were going to kids parties or trick or treating, but if enough grown ups dress up and make a night of it (and this evening I expect to see many of them walking the streets just as I have seen in years past) it becomes normal.

I've been dressing up for years as a normal person who thinks that adults who dress up for Halloween are ruining it. The best part is that I've got a whole closet-full of costumes to pick from.

Seriously, it is a holiday for kids, leave it alone. Adults co-opting it as another reason to have a party is just creepy. And not creepy in a good, Halloween way; more like a stranger-passing-out-candy-in-a-playground creepy. Creepy like a 40-ish male doll collector getting excited over a new Barbie is creepy.

Wear a blank sheet of paper and go as Mitt Romney's tax plan.

Or for the ladies, a few of you should squeeze into a binder costume.

Homeless Big Bird is a popular one.

You could be Hurricane Sandy, which would just require a nametag and then going around and rudely bumping into people.
