As a woman, I have to say that I 100% agree with your post. I think we ALL need to get over this difference between men or women. While I appreciate it if someone holds the door open for me, I certainly don't expect it. I am also totally capable of opening a car door by myself, so in no way would I ever expect a male to have to do that for me. And usually when I'm out for dinner I don't care who orders their food first or who gets served first, since there is only a matter of seconds difference and is it really worth wasting time and effort complaining about?
Get over it, and get on with thinking about the important things.
Great post Scott (even if you ended up deleting it)
It never ceases to surprise me how looking at the world from an alternate view upsets people. Yes there were many negative things about this particular perspective, but it is far more informative to understand and disagree rather than simply disregard an idea. At worse, the "bad" ideas will provide better support for "good" ones. Keep up the thought inspiring blogs Scott.
Isn't it sad, the incapacity of men (and by men I mean males and females to all you IQ<100 folk out there) to look at a topic with logic and reason, without jumping to an emotional reaction. And hell, even if you are going to jump to an emotional reaction, why do you suppose everyone should feel the same as you. I hate the fact that a person cant voice a point of view contrary to the "majority" without people jumping to hysterical reaction. It's scary that 44 years later we find that Ayn Rand had it right. We are all living in the novel Atlas Shrugged and the looters have control!
