This blog has a comment ranking system. Let's have some fun with it by having our own presidential debate. Pick a side, either Obama or McCain, and leave a comment explaining why your pick would be the best president.

Then be sure to vote for the best other comments that aren't your own. Let's see which arguments float to the top.

You are not required to be brief, but my guess is that people will vote you down if you can't make your case in a paragraph or two.

The challenge is to support your argument. For example, saying one candidate will vote for some particular treaty is just a fact, not an argument, unless you can include a link to an article saying most experts disagree with the treaty.

I live in MA, we will be giving our electoral votes to Obama so whether I vote for him or not won't matter, my vote is useless. Unless something important pops up on my local ballot I probably won't vote.

If a candidate came forward supporting getting rid of the electoral college I might vote for that person.

If I do vote, it will be for McCain. Primarily I don't like Obama's stance on Iraq. His view of getting out quick exemplifies all that is wrong with the American attitude. Take anything you can, except for responsibility for your actions. We screwed that place up, we have to help fix it. Massive troop withdrawal won't help.

Democrats raise taxes, Obama's solution for high fuel prices is an amusing tax !$%*!$%* the large oil companies which might feel good right now, but that type of taxation will only cause the exact same thing that happened back in the last oil crisis; limited supplies of fuel with long lines and no gas. Taxes cause inefficiencies.

McCain - he's been there, done that with a heck of a lot more things than we can imagine. We wouldn't be in the fix in Iraq if he'd been president. But depending upon his VP Choice I may not vote for him. He is older than a lot, but with age does come knowlege. And I'm not a registered Republican (or Democrat) but an Indepenent.

I choose not to choose a candidate.

For those who have made comments about the cuss-word filter, be glad you don't live in !$%*!$%*!$% England. The following link relates to AOL's problem with the town, but the real story at the time was when the local council's email filters stopped all messages until it was disabled. Just imagine the committee meetings that would have followed that.

I suppose it answers the question 'who put the *&$! in !$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%*!$%

I'm not a fan of either one since NEITHER candidate has a real argument about how they're going to fight ILLEGAL immigration, shrink the size of government or effectively end/win the war on terror.

(I'm going for the Independent votes).
