My older brother lives in Southern California. He sent me this video of the recent catastrophe in his area. It's frightening. I'm just glad he survived.
According to some of the comments on this video, every meteorologist and climatologist on the planet, along with thousands of other scientists, as well as people who live in the Arctic circle, are all involved in a huge conspiracy to fool us into believing in global warming. Thank God we know better than to believe them, because a few right-wing talk-show hosts bring us the truth with their lucrative TV and radio programs and bestselling books.
Oh, and we also know that global warming is false because it isn't always warmer everywhere on the planet, in spite of the fact that a global change of a few degrees won't make any noticeable difference in local weather patterns for most of the world yet.
Dangit Scott! And here I thought you were serious. Before watching the video, I checked the news sites to see if I missed some big story about a catastrophe in California. I've been punk'd!
Maybe you have to live there (or visit for a while?) to "get" the biting irony of that film. Been there, done that, had enough, moved away. Seeing a parody like this was a pleasant reminder of exactly how dysfunctional that part of the world has become.
I didn't know you had a brother. Seeing him by the thermostat I saw the resemblance.
Thank goodness you didn't get any snow. I know the surfers wouldn't be able to hang, having to sew two pairs of shorts together to keep your legs warm. Thank goodness we on the east coast have pants.
And thank goodness So. Cal. has HEAT! on the thermostat, even though you never use it!
I live in SoCal and seen with my own two eyes, that tons of Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) crystals had been dumped in our own virtual back yard. Some are calling it an "Act of GOD". Anyone that knows anything about DHMO knows that it is one of the most lethal substances known to man. It is attributed to one of the most massive extinction events ever to be recorded. Prolonged exposure to it in it's solid state has been known to kill thousands every year world wide. Caustic burns when exposed to it's gaseous state are very common. And in it's normal state has been a major cause of death by merely breathing a small amount of it.
Science knows it is one of the most powerful solvents ever discovered. It is found in almost every bathroom and kitchen in America. It's the primary ingredient in acid rain. Yet the EPA does almost nothing about regulating it's storage or providing suitable protection against exposure to it. This has to stop I tell you. There are many web sites devoted to bringing this horrible substance into public awareness. And we have tons of crystalline DHMO, just deposited, not 3 !$%*! from where I live.
Anyway, appreciate your concern Scott and thanks for this opportunity to bring this SoCal catastrophe into public awareness.
All I was doing was playing the other side of the people that a week ago were calling "record high temperatures in December" proof of Global Warming. If a hot day proves it, a cold one disproves it.
In actuality, I know this video has nothing to do with Global Warming. Why so serious?
Um, I'm struggling to find the point. It's (very) mildly amusing, but that's about it. Is it about how people in SoCal (myself included) can't handle weather?
Wow... although I like a good parody any time.... Some of this feels wrong.
People will jump on any contrived half-excuse to not having to think about the environment, how destructive the way of life is.
And don't get me started about the links in the comments. Before the page loaded, I had ads for Palin and Glen Beck's ramblings.
