Tarsin Privacy Policy

Tarsin (Europe) Limited and its subsidiary Tarsin Inc., collectively referred to in this document as Tarsin, understands the concerns many of our customers have regarding privacy and security in accessing and utilizing services over the Internet. As our customer, we want to make you comfortable with our privacy practices and the security measures we take to protect your personal information. By using our website and services provided, you consent to the collection and use of your information by Tarsin as set forth in our privacy policy currently in effect.

If we decide to change our policy, such changes and their effective date will be posted on our homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page.

When you register for services, Tarsin collects your phone number, name, email address, wireless carrier, country, and the type of phone you have to properly provide access to the Dilbert Mobile services. In addition, as part of your use of Dilbert Mobile and other services, you'll be uploading important personal information. Tarsin may collect other identifying information from you from time to time in order to furnish additional services that are explained when the information is requested. The Dilbert Mobile website is co-branded within the Dilbert.com website look, but all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) information is collected by Tarsin and only with your opt in will we send any PII information to Dilbert.com.

When you are asked for personal information by Tarsin, you are sharing that information with Tarsin, its subsidiaries and related companies. Additionally, if you utilize a cellular phone, pager or other device requiring service, your personal information may be collected by the manufacturer of the phone or other device and/or the provider of your service to facilitate your service arrangement with such third party and or Tarsin. Tarsin may also contract with third party companies to perform services for Tarsin on its website that require these companies to collect personal information (e.g. hosting a website sweepstakes, promotion or survey, or selling software downloads). While on the Dilbert Mobile website hosted by Tarsin, this privacy policy will govern all PII data collection. Dilbert.com privacy policy will govern those links which take you to the Dilbert.com website.

Our website may also contain various links to third-party websites. These sites may provide additional information, goods, services and/or promotions. These sites are owned and operated independently of Tarsin, and have their own separate privacy and data collection practices. Any information you provide to these websites will be governed under the terms of their privacy policy, if any. Tarsin has no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the independent actions or policies of these independent sites, and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such sites.

Tarsin will not sell, share, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties other than as part of a sale of Tarsin or its business. In the case of the sale of Tarsin, we will endeavor to require the new owner to protect your collected personal information in accordance with Safe Harbor requirements. As required, Tarsin will transfer information to third parties which are either necessary to carry out the transactions pertaining to the customer or are necessary to facilitate general business practices such as to outside accounting, billing or delivery companies.

Tarsin's web server logs collect the domain names of visitors to our websites. This information is aggregated to measure number of visits, average time spent on our website, pages viewed, etc. We use this information to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our site. Like many other sites on the internet, Tarsin uses cookies and collects IP addresses in order to better facilitate the services provided to you, and to collect non-personal aggregate data for marketing research purposes. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We use a non-persistent cookie called the application session cookie, which is set when the user accesses one of the services on the Tarsin website. This is again a non-persistent cookie that stores mapping for the session information. There is one application session cookie for each application accessed while logged onto the website. We do use one persistent cookie, which enables us to provide a better user experience. This cookie is used to display a onetime message to the user.

Tarsin allows the customer to opt-out of or opt-in to certain uses of personal information. In certain instances Tarsin will provide an opportunity for you to opt-out of certain uses of your personal information when collected. Additionally, you may choose to opt-out at a later date effective as of that date. Please note that opting out may result in the inability of Tarsin to provide the requested service. From time to time, you may be offered an opportunity to opt-in to promotions or other programs provided by a third-party through Tarsin.

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

Onward Transfer
Tarsin does not routinely disclose your personal information to any third parties. Tarsin will only transfer your personal information to third parties if:

  • The third party subscribes to the U.S. Department of Commerce "Safe Harbor" Framework or another adequacy finding, or;
  • Tarsin has entered into a written agreement with the third party requiring that the third party provide at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Safe Harbor principles, or;
  • Instructed to do so by you, or;
  • When it is required by law (e.g., in compliance with a subpoena or court order) or if we believe in good faith that such action is appropriate and necessary to protect and defend the rights of Tarsin, or to protect the safety of Tarsin's users and the general public. Because of the uncertain regulatory environment associated with privacy issues, we may also be forced to disclose personally identifiable and other information to a governmental authority.

The location where information is kept may be changed to consolidate data storage and simplify the management of customer information or for disaster recovery purposes.

Realizing the importance of secure data, Tarsin takes reasonable precautions to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Security questions regarding Tarsin should be directed to privacy@tarsin.com.

When you place an order or provide personal information, your transactions are encrypted for security. Encryption scrambles the information in your purchase, including your credit card number, so this information can only be viewed by Tarsin.

Tarsin uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology, one of the highest levels of security on the Internet. The SSL protocol provides server authentication, data integrity, and privacy on the Web. This security measure helps ensure that impostors, eavesdroppers, or vandals cannot get your personal information. SSL not only encrypts your personal information transmitted but also verifies the identity of the server and that the original message arrives safely at its destination.

However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Tarsin cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our website, and therefore you use our site at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we use our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

Data Integrity
Tarsin processes personal information only in a way that is compatible with the purposes for which it was collected and/or authorized by the individual. To the extent necessary for those purposes, Tarsin takes reasonable steps to ensure that data is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete, and current. Child Privacy
This site is intended for use by persons over the age of 16. Tarsin does not seek to collect information about children under the age of 13. No information should be submitted to or posted on this website by users under 13 years of age. If a child under the age of 13 submits personal information to this website, we delete the information as soon as we discover it and do not use it for any other purpose. Tarsin encourages parents to take an active role in their children's use of the Internet, and to inform them of the potential dangers of providing information about themselves over the Internet.

If a customer has a complaint regarding Tarsin's use of their personal information, please contact us at privacy@tarsin.com. Tarsin will investigate and attempt to resolve complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the principles contained in this Policy. For complaints that cannot be resolved between Tarsin and the complainant, users of Tarsin's services agree that such dispute will be settled by binding arbitration in Reno, Nevada under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. All Tarsin employees will be required to be familiar with and adhere to this privacy policy. Tarsin will investigate any reported complaints of violations of its privacy policy and will take prompt remedial action where violations are found. Dispute resolution provisions in Tarsin's client contracts will be followed.
