Dilbert is mistaken. The hair on the back of his hand grows steadily, but the lifecycle of a follicle is limited. When the follicle dies, the hair snaps off at the base. A new follicle usually grows at the same site, producing a new hair. In this manner, hair of consistent average length is maintained. Follicles in the human scalp are longer lived, in contrast to other primates.
Hey! Mongobert just realize hair on back not get longer either! Mongobert very confused. Maybe galaxyspinner have answer, since he have all answers anyway. Mongobert also just realize that Mongobert is a troll, thanks to Peacemaker. Mongobert sad. Mongobert try to change.
All right you guys, enough already. Yes, Galaxyspinner is a troll, but if you keep bashing him, you aren't much better than he is. This website was designed so people could comment on the Dilbert strips and help each other out with understanding them, not spending all their time flaming each other. Let's just forget this and get back to commenting on the strips. If you don't like somebody's comment, just give it a thumbs-down and move on, but don't flame.
