This is very true. I was watching a sort of quasi documentary on women's intuition and how they train themselves to ignore or second guess it. Especially in terms of a threat. When their instincts start yelling that the guy in the lift next to them is a creep and a danger, they ignore it in favour of social courtesy and still smile/be polite/act naturally.
