@MarillionFan - Wow, that's kind of sad more than anything. If that woman's priorities put her job so far above everything else, the baby doesn't stand much of a chance to get a lot of motherly attention. And that is sad.

I understand not every woman chooses to or can afford to stay at home with their kids, but my hat is off to those that do, especially with younger ones. There is something unique that mom's have that dad's don't, and I think properly taking care of the home and the kids is very under-appreciated this day and age. And it is certainly not easy.

Appropriately since it's just after midnight on May 8th, Happy Mother's Day to all.

I worked at a place where the director's secretary took one day off to have her first child, and for the second left at lunchtime and returned the next morning.

She said she felt really guilty about leaving her director without her support.

She was really proud of managing to give birth and only take one afternoon off.

Stupid, stupid, stupid woman.

The company we were working for ceased to exist a few years later.

My company didn't have a maternity leave policy until 2004 . . . you pretty much had to give brith and get right back to work!
