Btw, I think what achemist4u is saying is that benzo(a)pyrene is produced during the combustion phase of smoking a cigarette, not that it's present in it's original ingredients.
So, wait a minute. Your entire argument consist of you saying 'The poison achemist4u said was in cigarettes, is not found in cigarettes. Cigarettes contain entirely different types of poison.'
Incomplete combustion of organic material forms various polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), some of which are carcinogenic. Especially benzo(a)pyrene, which is the main carcinogen in cigarettes and in oil. I know this because I test seafood from the gulf for PAHs at work. So far it's all clean, so don't worry about eating seafood because of the spill.
