Nylani.. As an end user(in other parts of the corporate web my position would actually qualify as the "customer", and THAT would've givven me some rights that I honestly feel I deserve as I actually am the one who PAYS for the functionality).. I just HAVE to ask.. are you SURE you are correcting things???.. the way you write it, it sounds like you are the LAST one making changes to the documentation (at least you are after the copy writers in marketing), and I have to say that much of the documentation I ever gotten is ..
1. porly translated from another language and is therefor only jibberish
2. refers to functions and options that do not even exist in the actual software that I am trying to install or utiliize (often it is refering to how I woukld do it in a previous version, but sometimes I can not- even by extensive research- find any reference to there ever have been, or will be, any version to which the documentation actually aplies)
3. In the actual "swedish version" of the software the documentation AND the "eula" refers to the company being "non liable" to things for which swedish LAW says that ALL companies trying to sell ANYTHING to a swedish citizien will be obliged to take responsibility for.. (whats worse is that swedish law-enforcers(judges, attorneys, police, etc) seem to ignore swedish law and actually accept the fact that someone at one point or another clicked a mouse at some point on a screent superseeds law.. I HAVE considered trying to make a program where people would click "accept" on a eula would both make them responsible to kill anyone I tell them to, and at the same time make me irresponsible for their actions, and me asking them to do so.. I hope anyone readin gets my idea here, becase I actually drifted out of it in the middle.. (tl;dr)..
This is usually more what the copy writers in Marketing have to do... They're the ones who craft the client-oriented "fairy tale". Us Tech Writers usually see what they wrote, have a heart attack over it, and wind up fixing the document ourselves. :-S
