He's actually fine, because his cone of productivity only fills about 26.2% of his virtual cubical (assuming the cubical is a cube), therefore of his 8 hours of work, he only owes about 2 of productivity.

Maths:

Cube = L ^ 3
Cone = 1/3 * B * h
B = ∏ * r ^ 2
r = L / 2
h = L

Therefore:

Cone = 1/3 * ∏ * (L/2) ^ 2 * L = 1/3 * ∏ * L ^ 3 * 1/4 = 1 / 12 * ∏ * L ^ 3

Cone / Cube = (1/12 * ∏ * L ^ 3) / L ^ 3
The "L ^ 3"s cancel, so Cone / Cube = 1/12 * ∏ = ∏ / 12

∏ / 12 = 0.2618

Considering how long he spends explaining the 'cone of productivity', it has ALREADY failed.
