I'm an academic, and I remember seeing this cartoon the day after a colleague said that our university wasn't paying him enough so he'd go on the job market in order to get an offer to take back to our university in order to get the raise he wanted. At first I thought he was a cad, and then I realized the strange illogic so masterfully displayed in this comic. Bravo to Scott Adams for skewering this particular brand of workplace insanity!
