"Learn it on the plan", "read it on the plane", "code it on the plane"... It's the standard management response, and sometimes the response of naive would-be travelers who think that there must be something useful they can do on the plane. After all, you're just "sitting there" for what might be up to 14 hours . Surely there's a way to recover that lost time! And it *can* be true if the seats are big enough or there's no one next to you or you're not jet-lagged already. But most of the time it's just boring, and on long flights you should probably be sleeping...

Don' worry Dilbert, teaching COBOL is easy. It only gets hard when you start compiling it.
