When did Adams explain that? The only time it mentions the tie trying to get away from him is when Dogbert suggests that as a theory, and I think he was probably just taking the opportunity to insult dilbert. Remember, at the end of that series, it is made clear that the mystery of the tie will not be explained.
@Drethon don't forget, Scott Adams explained that his tie curls up because it's trying to get AWAY from him. His tie hates him, it won't be doing him any favors. :D
