I like how 2 persons say there's a pun in there, and 4 people has to correct them, in a consecutive order. That's the beauty of Internet. Few people really care about true facts, but by God, do they care when facts are wrong.

Not sure of your saying it for years but you certainly said it twice here.

IH, you are saying exactly what i've been saying for years. I once did an English paper in which i was supposed to analyze a book of my choice, and I picked The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. My paper consisted of "Douglas Adams had the idea for this story while he was lying drunk in a field, wondering where he could find a place that didn't spin so much. It doesn't mean a d*** thing." needless to say, i not only failed the paper, but got in a lot of trouble. I stand by my opinion though, considering he said that in the forward to the book.

dh47 and Warhawk, you two remind me of those darn english teachers. Maybe J. D. Salinger didn't want to imply anything with the central park ducks; maybe he just liked writing about ducks? Sometimes reading into it is above and beyond the author's intention.
