"Permanent untreatable disability wins every time." No, I think late stage incurable cancer would trump that. Glad to say I don't have either of those...just an incurable nit picker.

Plasma: Nice, although I'm just settling for reading through them all.

Have to say, now it goes all the way back to 1989, I'm only a few years short of reading my entire life's worth of dilbert comics.

As for this comic in general...

People who act like this annoy me. I actually know several at the moment, and frankly it's just nice knowing that in this competitive world, I've still somehow managed to top them all, both in our respective field and "who is worse off".

Permanent untreatable disability wins every time.

Here marks the beginning of Plasma's quest... an honorable quest to comment on every strip in the archives. He knew not how he would be reviled in this pursuit, and perhaps he may never know, but it is strange to look back on the simple man Plasma once was... a simple man with but one goal: to leave his mark on these archives. Despite his early demise (his disappearance can be traced to the April 26, 2001 strip) and his obvious shortcomings (comments such as "I wish I had a witty comment right about now"), he certainly achieved his goal. Fellow travelers, enjoy your journey with Plasma while it lasts... it seems so short in retrospect.

The worst part is that there are waay too many people actually like that.
And I'd probably be one of them, if it wasn't so apparent that I'd be lying. Instead, I just scoff and walk away, making it look like I can top it without explaining how.

*I've made it a business of mine to attempt to comment on every comic in these archives.
Mostly out of boredom.

Jan 01, 2001 isn't the oldest strip, only the last strip in the archive.

On this page: http://www.dilbert.com/faq/ under "New Website Features", the second entry under the first question states "All Dilberts all the time since 1987". Now, I thought Dilbert's first official strip was from April 16, 1989. So, what comes before that? Content from the Build a Better Life and Clues for the Clueless books? Or were there other strips between 87 and 89 that we never found out about?

Anyway, I've read something else saying that the older strips WILL be in color and online in the near future.
