Yes, a woman wants a man to listen, but she also does not want to know what is going on in his head. She wants to believe the man is invloved in the conversation, not just nodding. She feels connected that way. She also wants to believe the man is thinking along related lines when he is silent. My wife has given up on asking about what I am thinking since I gave her honest answers. Time splicing between her topic and other topics appearantly does not count.

I think Dilbert may be a bit of an aspie. I don't think she really would appreciate being told that he isn't one of her girlfriends, good social skills actually includes being willing to listen to her blabber about this and that. Women expect that you listen.

Firstly, I agree with the people who believe Dilbert is more socially inept than a misogynist.

Nextly, I can't believe no one commented on that sweater. That's a doozy.

Scott has got some flack for misogyny at least concerning an overly sensitive character called Tina at one time. I presume everyone does, who publishes something anywhere - I think Dilberts dates are horrible, but maybe he just seeks that himself. As said, in general, all the characters including the female co-workers are unpleasant in some way. Except the trash man - he is the closest Dilbert comes to a guardian angel. And Dilmom is not horrible either. Maybe Dilbert can't find a woman because he knows none will measure up to her?
