Just so that it's clear to people seeing it now: when all of these comments, and they date back to January, 2000 strips, about the color of Elbonian mud were written, they were not purple water... they were blue. Elbonian mud has since been recolored, but, in defense of myself and everyone else who has had something to say to us back about the mud, it was not always as mud colored as it is now.
So... I have a theory that whoever is coloring the Elbonian mud assumes the ripples around them means they're in water, and hasn't actually bothered to research Elbonia.
