I have used customer service. I do, in fact believe this is a horrendous idea both in this specific case and as a strategy in general (in the general case it would have to be divided in two parts).

The humor comes from the general notion that many who work in customer service positions appear to misunderstand many key components of their role (like not focusing on their own convenience), and how these misunderstandings would lead to the assumption that this idea isn't bad.
