There is a simple solution to this, do the project well then go and report to the boss, say something along these lines, "the project was a huge success! there were a few things that I wasn't sure how you would handle but I guess I ended up doing them the way you would because everything worked great!" The boss will be faced with the choice of either letting everything go (and probably taking all the credit for a hugely successful project), or calling Asok out for insubordination and admitting he was wrong. since the boss absolutely never admits he was wrong Asok willl do fine.
