I remember reading this in a Dilbert book. "If ten people can finish a project in ten days, it would follow that one person can finish said project in one day."

My job, in a nutshell.

If this were a Sunday cartoon, the PHB would go on to explain how more good work from Asok would benefit him (PHB), as it would make him look like a great manager to his director(s), while less work from Asok would make PHB look bad, since he'd have to fire Asok, so it's in Asok's best interests to give 110% next quarter. And of course Asok's coworkers would hate him for setting the bar too high for them, and they'll be perpetually asked why they can't be as good as Asok ...

This has happened to me so many times.... The more work I did, the more work I got. The faster i did that work, the shorter the deadlines got ! It just did not make sense !
