It's not. There were special christmas strips every year from the very start of dilbert, they just stopped after 1993. 1992 was my favourite, and had a build up and everything (can't remember if the others did).

I think this is the first Dilbert Christmas day strip that has any connection to Christmas. It's about time Dilbert got a day off on Christmas!
