Woh! What is this thing?!
This is a social bar from the Dilbert team and our friends at Meebo. It is a cool little feature we've added to Dilbert to make sharing comic strips, Mashups and other content, a simple click of the mouse from any page.
Try it out – use the buttons to instantly send the next funny comic you read to your Facebook status or your Twitter feed. We’re adding even more ways to share soon, so check this space often!
Even to the point that most people don't realise that to manufacture a solar cell takes more energy than it will produce in its lifetime; creates more pollution and uses more rare-earth metals than burning even mediocre-grade coal.
Ah, but greenwashing makes so much sense - once you accept that the greenpeacers are a cult entirely divorced from logic but quite popular and powerful. Play along, greenwash, and look forward to this fad fading. Next week the noisy nutbags well be decrying paper cups, so switch back to styrofoam (but with a mystery ingredient that makes them green), issue a smug press-release and declare victory.
@ mbh "Ironically, given that 25,000,000 styrofoam cups go into landfills every year, makes up 25% of our landfill space "
Shall we do the math? A Styrofoam cup weighs 2.1g and takes up a volume of 200ml. Assume that the cups are incredibly strong and don't crush down. 25million cups will take up 5000 cubic metres and weigh 52500 tonne. (that is metric tonnes)
Total US waste to landfill 2005 was 120million tonne. Assume that this waste is as dense as iron. Total volume pa = approx 17million cubic metres. So total volume in the waste stream is 0.029% not 25%
