Kind of ironical, isn't it?
Nowadays, GMail is not known for its secrecy or, to be more specific, the way it handles a user's private data. And to have 'The Director of the Top Secret Research Group' use a GMail ID for official correspondence is simply contradictory. Wally has not been following the latest technology news & trends...

Lol, guys, I think you're missing the point that wally specification was so that the joke flowed better for the reader.

I'd vote for the entry by prabu but that would cause confusion among the readers who are not tech savvy . . .

Several commenters don't seem to get it. Wally will now just go sign up as TopSecretResearchDirector@gmail.com. In fact, he may have already done that, being prepared in advance for this conversation. Hmm. . . I bet Wally has also registered YourBoss@gmail.com, TheCEO@gmail.com, RulerOfTheUniverse@gmail.com, DilbertCartoonist@gmail.com, and so on. . . Unless Dogbert beat him to it. . .
