Dexter - did you consider that Dilbert isn't good at selling stuff so he tried to stick with the script, since he was told that it was foolproof? And now it's just me guessing but I don't think that there are exceptions on this script like "if the phoned customer is your mother, skip to section 2c".

Ha! Look five days forward, to Dec 11, and Dilbert himself remarks how long ago landlines were the thing to use. He totally hasn't entered his mom's phone number manually to dial in decades.

Dexter-- there are at least two plausible options. He could have used a computer dialer and didn't see the number. Or he could be one of those people who can't remember people's numbers because he just dials them from his phone's address book. Considering how techie Dilbert is, I wouldn't be surprised if it's been twenty years since he manually entered a phone number calling his mom.

How come Dilbert didn't recognize his own Mom's number? Seems like he has been a poor son and doesn't call her up often!

Ham24 - You couldn't make it in reading sales scripts, so now a Gov't contractor? Are you working as Obama's teleprompter? :)
