I had to look up "scrod" but didn't complain about it. When I found out what it was, it just made the joke all the funnier! In fact, this is one of my favorite strips.
Today's strip is also really funny, even though I didn't have to look up anything. I'm pretty sure that Sulley's landing in the Hudson made international news anyway. And even if I didn't know what a koi pond was, I'd figure from the context that it was a pretty small body of water.
Look, up in the sky. Is it a bird? Is it a Plane? No it's PHB. Love it. Enough pressure to "gently" push the bosses carcas out, then Boss heading into orbit with potential for head first landing in Elbonia, saved by colliding with a plane. ROFLMAO.
I didn't get the Sullenberger/Koi reference at first but now i do. Nice.
