Woh! What is this thing?!
This is a social bar from the Dilbert team and our friends at Meebo. It is a cool little feature we've added to Dilbert to make sharing comic strips, Mashups and other content, a simple click of the mouse from any page.
Try it out – use the buttons to instantly send the next funny comic you read to your Facebook status or your Twitter feed. We’re adding even more ways to share soon, so check this space often!
Is this turning into your little BLOG. I don't apologize that much when I upset my wife.
I have been to a 3rd world country and there are very few Vets. Most countries find that spending good money on a Vets to fix fluffy means we have too much wealth. The only care is limited to farm animals. Anything smaller than a cow that can no longer pull its weight is fixed with carrots, a couple onions, salt and pepper. Last time I sent $400 was to pay for a young girls arm to be set and have a young mans abscessed tooth removed before it killed him.
Did you even smile when you saw this strip? It is funny, twitching eyes and "smell a squirrel" is exactly what my lab does. Get a room you two.
I've read through my comment and yours several times, and I still don't see the problem. I agree that I could have worded the first line you quoted a little bit better, but I don't see what you're talking about. Would you please tell me exactly what I was implying that insulted the profession? Perhaps that will clear this up.
Anyway, if this is going to go on much longer, I say we take this elsewhere, because this is very off-topic, and I probably shouldn't have even posted the first comment on this site.
Thanks for the apology, but please re-read your initial post-you might not have said those things verbatim, but you surely implied them and your statement was very insulting to the veterinary profession. Your recent statement is much appreciated.
I never said that vets were unqualified, that they don't work as hard as MDs, or that vet school isn't every bit as hard med school. I apologize if my word choice or my tone implied any differently. If you want to know, I think vets are highly capable professionals who have had to put a lot of work into getting where they are. I couldn't really say I have a right to say that Med school is any harder than Vet school, either, since I haven't gone to both.
It appears that you feel very strongly about this, but please leave the aggression out. It really isn't necessary. I apologize if my comment insulted you, but I meant no slight against the profession.
