He is feeling so guilty of cooking up that god-knows-what methodology that he wants to wash it off in the shower!
The really scary part is that Dilbert will go on to create something to vaguely fit the bill of an enhanced assessment methodology. That will be promptly misunderstood by the Phb and other idiots, leading to more confusion and less productivity. I think that's why Dilbert is trying to wash his soul!
