@Kalessin...1000% poverty is indeed achievable, since even if Dogbert has every piece of currency or precious commodity in the world, what good will it be if there is nothing to BUY? It will all be worthless, and when money and things "of value" cannot purchase anything anymore, then everyone will be poor. The only things that will have value, inevitably, will be the necessities of life.
In our current economic path, we're headed back to being hunter-gatherers. "Wealth" as we know it is being devalued at a horrendous pace, and world currencies are plummeting. The means to create wealth and sustain our economies are being gobbled up and destroyed for socio-political purposes. There are those who believe that the earth cannot sustain the earth's population, and that billions of us must be eradicated to bring that level down to 13th century levels, and that can only be achieved after the world economies have collapsed.
I heard a public service announcement warning seniors of medicare fraud, the PSA stated that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". When our oldest and supposedly wisest need such a warning, we're doomed.
