@kf4dna: ISO9000 is like religion, ie. the concept isn't wrong, so much as the execution as perpetrated by those with a set of distorted "values" (There's that word again)
A couple of examples of results of corporate values:
1. Possible hear-say, but Johnson & Johnson is supposed to have increased the opening on their tubes of toothpaste to sell more.
2. Not hear-say, Remington has an IPL hair removal device that as sold in the UK delivers 1500 flashes of light, and the same device sold in Australia will only deliver 750 flashes before an expensive replacement must be purchased.
The above is the only true core value corporations have (making money). Anything else is a sham.
CORPORATE values are indeed a SHAM, the corporation (as legal person that they are) have no values , there only goal is making money, they dont care how, they add the "values" talk to convince the employees why they re "good" to cheat them into "being part of the team or family" into giving "more than 100%", to give your best so they can make tons of money, and when the employees stop being a mean to get their goal or start to coast to much hey just kick them out, that the truth, pure manipulation, they try trick us into not realizing that the only thing we own them is our job not or loyalty, mind or our free time. NEVER fall for this, inly do a good job and thats it, that the only thing you own them
Values like "honesty" "comradeship" and so on are only apply able to the company when those attitudes lead to making money , when not they switch to other ones
