Boy, some of you have bad memories. Meditation has a poor track record for getting Vulcans through Pon Farr. Usually a good fight will work if mating can't be done. In both TOS and Voyager, a big fight gave the Vulcans the emotional "release" that they needed. By the way, Klingons don't have Pon Farr. In Voyager, Belana was responding to the Vulcan crew member who was in Pon Farr. There may have been actual mating in The Search for Spock but it was not shown on screen. The female Vulcan was using "foreplay" to sooth Spock.

Dilbert is obviously a Vulcan since, according to Wikipedia, Pon Farr affects Vulcans. This being the case, the most suitable mate for Dilbert would seem to be a female Vulcan who is also going through Pon Farr. I doubt Dilbert would be "empathically bonded" (see the Wikipedia entry) with any of the female characters we've seen in the strip to date since most of them seem to regard Dilbert with benign indifference, at best. Since Pon Farr can be fatal if the afflicted Vulcan does not mate and, since, if Dilbert dies, there is no strip, a female character who can do the Vulcan salute is necessary!

Ignoring the rediculousness of Pon Farr for a moment...

Make up diseases are a real thing. I wrote about it on my blog. The medical establishment keeps adding to what are considered diseases and widening the diagnosis of existing diseases. The more people who are "sick" the more who need to be treated with expensive drugs and other procedures.

Not necessarily- one can be "talked through" it, and intense meditation can often do the trick. Remember in Star Trek: The Search for Spock? Of course you do.
