reminds of yrs ago when I had a developer send me an allegedly updated/patched class file - when it didn't fix the bug (or behave differently at all) I MD5'd it and saw she had sent me the same file that was already in the build. when I pointed this out to her ("um, this is the same file - the MD5s are identical") her response was "well, I only changed ONE character in it!". unfortunately, since we were dealing with a still unresolved production problem I couldn't give that the response it deserved...
Wow, all these posts (engineers, I presume) are still talking about the Pon Farr! (a) It must be the most excitement they've had since Steve Jobs' iPad announcement, & (b) the profession still fails to recognize that if you don't beat a horse to death the first time you discover it, it'll be fresh enough to give you a ride another day.
