Reminds me of the the attrition model. Ever notice that everyone around 40 often end up with the same title or level, then the company eliminates that position and offer either a small severance package or a lower position with less pay to do the same tasks plus more? I've seen this three times over the late 2 years.

Sounds like my Systems Admin job. I work all Tier levels but get paid the same as those who work Tier 1 support.
