the cubicle wall vanished because there was too much text to fit in the panel with the horizontal line of the wall still there. he could have done some strange partial erasure, but by establishing the wall in the first two panels, it logically follows that it's still there. He simply needed room for type without cluttering up the panel.
That's not really creepy. A little strange and a few other descriptive words I won't mention, but not creepy.
Creepy would have been if Pete had offered to perform the massage himself...
