itegern .. Actually there have been more incidents involving glasses of more or less clean water as publicity stunts.. I remember that there once was some form of international delegation(not sure, it might be the olympic games commité. Either way it was over ten years ago) in Stockholm who got served water straight from the ocean.. We do have clean waters, but it's not defendable to call it drinking water (Sometimes it is, but..), so I was annoyed already when I saw it happen on the news.. and sure enough a few days later the newspapers had checked what the quality of the water really was at the time, and thus ran front page stories about how the visitors got served water "not suitable for human consumption".

Of course most of you realize that you do not really get to own the land. You just own the space over the land called real state. That is why the government gets away with taxing you for the land.

No body has actually made the land. Thus no body really owns the land. Whoever is able to defend the land is the owner of the land as long as he/she can defend it. Since government is the one that defends it and most people are not willing to fight for their land (even against government), it follows that none of you own the land, you just rent it from government in form of taxation.

From a recent cake baking competition where the winner would get $25,000 and a marketing contract:
Judge: Your cake was unexceptional and certainly not the best, but your marketing strategy was excellent. Therefore, you are the winner.

Big business has definitely lost its credibility.

The sludge will be marketed as an exotic drink from Elbonia called "black ptooey". Would be interesting to read the FDA ingredients list on the side of the bottle....makes me think of the blue meth featured on Breaking Bad....

@BigMal27
There is a big difference between owning land and owning a home. I have a house that has fluctuated between 140k in market value and 250k. The "lot value" has creeped up slowly from 22k to 28k. I also have a 15 acre "ranch" in the country. That land value has been solid, too. 2006 was a horrible time to buy property. I think my 190k home was at it's peak paper-value of 250k that year.
