Alice is correct. There are very few things we need; but we all WANT a lot. Research somewhere said that human can survive in a dark cave eating bugs and listening to white noise all day, but none of us WANT that. What Alice is insinuating is that PHB's demand isn't a necessity.

Alice needs practice. The boss said "I need..." but she repeated "I want..."

Critical difference. Her subtle message is "you think you need it, but it's really a desirement".

Reminds me of the famous Richard Nixon quote: "I know that you believe that you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure that you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." She's just turning it back on him. WTG Alice!
