Reminds me of those sales people that stand by the exit at COSTCO. You're trying to leave and they stand in front of your cart trying to sale you a new roof or window frames.

This reminds me of a short stint I had at RadioShack years ago. I can't control a natural urge to actually be helpful, and never could get that "up-sale" thing right. That's why it was a short stint. It was good for me though; the small electronic parts and adapters section was at the back of a narrow and long store with the cash register in the front, so I got a lot of exercise walking and lost weight. That came in handy for my next job as a night watchman... but that's another story.

When you are browsing, you have to fight them off.
When you need some assistance, they scatter like pigeons.

The trick is to look like you are trying to ask them a question and you won't be disturbed.

This is what happens when they do away with commissioned sales perks for repeat customers.
