Just because an idea is not original, doesn't mean it will not work.

When Google started Yahoo had pretty much had the market.

Having a product is does not guarantee an income. But not having a product guarantee not having an income.

It used to be that the inventors where free to invent. Nowadays the only purpose of the patent office is to handicap development and bring obscene profit to patent lawyers. You know that society is wrong when there are more lawyers than engineers.

Ideas aren't worth a dime; the worth is in the daily sweat you put to make that idea a reality.
People nowadays get overprotective with ideas because they misunderstand patents.

There isn't really such a thing as an "original" idea, just a variation of already existing ideas. So how does one get in to the market and compete against the other 10? Again there is no such thing as an original idea, my advice is to just offer a better service but even that isn't a guarantee.

Developers 2-9 had unoriginal ideas, too, and it didn't stop them.

Just means you have to work on reducing the number of competitors.
