@nexfraxinis: The point is The Boss needs to understand the technical issues, or at the very least understand his workers - otherwise he risks taking the advice of Wally types.

@ HPoe: Actually IMHO it is great if a boss listens to his workers and implements something - especially when it is tech related which is sometime really hard to argue regarding value enhancement

"Virtualize" and "cloud" are certainly managers' current favorite buzz words de jour. However, in the 35 years I have been involved in IT, there has never been a time when appropriate substitutes would not have worked just as well. Indeed, hard as this may be to believe, decades ago, responsible management was typically even more clueless on technical IT issues than is the case today. Sigh!
