Even when I was in mgmt, I had to fight the overpowering demand from above to do this to my employees! I think there must be a brainwashing event that is secretive to every mgmt personnel initiation!

This strip had a ring of truth to it.I've had a couple of very good bosses, but most try to trick or bully into doing your job, that you would be quite happy doing if they just asked, since they did not ask nicely, you look to do the minimal effort as they have sucked all the joy out of it.
Even quite menial jobs can be, if not fun, then rewarding, so long as your 'self' is not belittled or bruised.

Bosses and others in management call for the "staff car". In fact, it is common practice for bosses in government offices in India to use the staff car and driver for their personal work, 24X7, 365(6) days, including Sundays and "holidays". Other office facilities like computers, and staff like stenographers, office messengers, electricians, electronic technicians, are all used similarly. Chemicals like citric acid, acetic acid, glucose, solvents, Hydrochloric acid (good for cleaning toilets!), strontium nitrate (for home-made fireworks for Diwali), etc. are also liberally used.

Sounds like the bike parking I had at high school.Removes the kids' temptation to go home for lunch (which leads to the temptation to not come back for afternoon classes).
