This is a common tendency among observation-and-analysis-centric individuals, many of whom are engineers, programmers, scientists, and the like.
One reason they continue with this philosophy is that it has seldom failed them in getting a paycheck, and they can explain/ridicule away anything that doesn't agree with it.

This smacks with ignorance and mental blight. Poking fun at "personal faith" does not advance anyone's ability to prosper. Scott, if you thionk this is funny, just wait until Hell is at YOUR front door, where ya gonna run scotty?

Ha! So I'm not the only person who knows the word quintillion! That feels good, but this comic made my skin crawl. I don't deal with stupid sheeple very well.
