It would be more fun to see Lars reject her because a cooler version of Tina has also been hired and Lars goes for cooler Tina. Then Lars and cool-Tina both leave to do a start-up that sells a week later for $100 million.

This is consistent with a decades-old tradition in American cartoon strips, comic and otherwise -- cruelty to the eponymous character. Action heroes get beaten up and comic characters get frustrated and humiliated.
