It really doesn't matter if he get's a bad review, The raise will be miniscule anyway. The difference between 1% and 2% does not add up to much in the paycheck anyway.

Last year they gave me a dismal review that I thought was totally at variance with reality. So I started working the clock and doing exactly what I was told, no more and no less. This entailed a great deal less effort on my part. As a result I've received a positive performance review. Make up your own mind what this says about the reviewer.

Well dilbert, u fall for it : you're not agressive enough to use Fist of Death and not lazzy enough to use wally's tantras.

Performance Review Time (PFT annual, as it is termed around this government office or kindergarten) is literally an exercise in BS. Here's a quote from the boss man of the group - "It's that wonderful time of the year again.....Performance Appraisal Time! Yay!
I'm giddy with joy at the responses that I will receive as to how you have done on your listed Goals from last year.
Please forward me your contributions to these goals so I can cut them down and feed them to my Guinea Pig."
Need to say anymore?????????????

Sounds like our yearly review. Purposely give you a bad review so they don't have to give you a raise; they only made 128 billion in profits last year. My boss has already told me I'm getting a bad review. And they wonder why they have a 25-50% turnover rate. That plus they pay Systems Admins not that much more than Walmart does. Yeah IBM.
