Our former departmental PHB was clueless as to what any of us did, let alone what was the department's purpose. Of course, those little details didn't stop him from micro-managing us. It makes sense now -- he was aiming for bigger things and his obvious incompetence was part of his master plan. When he was promoted out we were happy to see him go.And Jontva, don't sell me short -- I'm bitter, cynical and a socialist.

Judging by the comments I've read here, today and in the past, there are a lot bitter, cynical individuals out there. Either it is endemic to the IT industry or there is a bunch of socialists who read this strip.

Ah, the new paradigm: if so-and-so was successful running a paint company, surely he can run a car company, or an airplane company, or an accounting firm. The skill set is the same, right? Whatever he learned in business school will cover anything.

C'mon, Scott! You must rellay be scraping right now to resurrect a joke from <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teachers_(film)">Teachers</a></i> nearly 30 years ago! I stood idly by while you demonstrated your ignorance of economics, but this is too much!
