@dorkbert - How about DEC? Run by engineers, with the attitude that if you weren't there to do engineering then you were there to run administrative errands for people who were. DEC was profitable for decades until it was bought by Compaq, and ruined by professional managers. In the nineties the Australian manager of Penguin books IT took time out of his busy day to show me around their facility when he found out I liked VAXen too.

Sounds like our Performance reviews. Pretty much have already been told months ago we weren't getting raises and my boss told me I was getting a below standard review (so they don't have to give you a raise or promote you or let you go to other departments). My Last Day is Friday; start a new job the following Monday.
