It is a continuing source of wonder to me how companies whose every act is an oppressive imbecilic squandering of talent and resource somehow became economic giants. My own employer has managed to prevent me from sorting out the problems with our product. Once I even got as far as testing a working prototype of a rewrite of the server software that my benchmarks showed was 200 times faster on the same hardware. I was unsupervised for an extended period so nobody wasted my time on status reports and other questions the answers to which were beyond their ken. Unfortunately I came back from annual leave, found I had a boss again, and it all went to pieces from there. I have actually been formally warned against "working on personal projects using company time and equipment" so I've stopped trying. The pay's the same.

The PHB can't find Wally, so he doesn't have these meetings to begin with. Is there an employee award for "energized malevolence" in this company - you know, the kind when the employees secretly award it to each other?

Phreon, I told you last time that your coworkers are informing Scott about your management. I repeat there are cameras and probably microphones but none of them are owned or operated by Scott Adams.

I may be lazy and toxic, but I am no thief. We have nothing worth stealing.

That's rather sad actually. Never mind the glee we feel when imagining performing such activities when the PHB pisses us off. To stay embittered for so long - what a waste of one's life!
