AXESMI it sounds like you had a great boss who was happy with your performance and just let you do your job. Don't burn your bridges because your new job might include monthly or weekly tortures (oops, I mean one-on-one status meetings with your boss).

Where I am presently working, we are supposed to have monthly One-on-Ones to discuss our career goals and see how well we are doing. In 3 years I have had maybe 2. With my present boss, none. Shows how much management cares or has time for those. Last Day is Friday!

That's a good retort, but it would probably just encourage PHB to step up the visits and try to tick off all the other boxes.
