About traps. A few years ago, an IT VP asked me to talk about a project in an all-IT meeting and then turned around and formally complained to HR I divulged too much information.
I found out a few weeks later it was his usual method of telling someone to either pontificate him in public or suffer the consequences.
The CEO does not know the products the company makes. That gives him plausible deniability.
